Common Uses
While Americans continue to debate the future of their medical insurance options, there are groups of people who may not be eligible for government-funded coverage regardless of the outcome.
Foreign nationals who are visiting or temporarily working in the United States; or non-Americans who work for an American company but are residents either of their home countries or a third country; or American citizens temporarily residing overseas who cannot acquire American coverage because of residency restrictions could be left out of the United States health care system.
Fortunately, your needs are addressed by All Aboard Benefits, particularly with the International Major Medical Plan. This is a temporary medical insurance plan that reimburses eligible expenses incurred because of an illness or injury suffered within a specified location. You have the option of purchasing a plan with a term of only 10 days up to a maximum of 366 days depending on your particular needs. Maximum benefit varies according to age, from US $50,000 for those aged 80-84 to US $1,000,000 for ages 69 and below.
The list of eligible expenses is quite long. Among them are hospital expenses, physician's services, skilled nursing facilities, home health care, ambulance service expenses, and even prescription drugs. If you need to be transported from your temporary residence to a medical facility closest to your home, the International Major Medical Plan will take care of your expenses. In the event of death, this coverage also applies. Additional benefits include Trip Cancellation, Lost Luggage, and Emergency Return Home Benefits. To top all these, is a US $25,000 Accidental Death Benefit, double if this occurs while riding a common carrier.
Optional coverage that includes sports, additional accidental death and dismemberment, war and terrorism, and kidnap and ransom benefits are also available for an additional premium.
The International Major Medical Plan just about covers every eventuality that might occur while you are away from home. It's probably something that your mother would have told you not to leave home without.
